CodeFreeze privacy policy

What the app accesses, what it stores, and what happens when you uninstall it. Written in plain English.

Overview

This privacy policy describes how CodeFreeze ("the app"), operated by Slatehouse (Fabian Eppinger, Munich, Germany), handles data when you install and use it on your Shopify store. The general Slatehouse privacy policy at slatehouse.app/privacy applies in addition.

Data the app accesses

CodeFreeze requests access to the discount codes of your store via the Shopify Admin API in order to list them and enforce pause rules at checkout. The app reads code names, their status and discount type. It does not read products, orders, or customer records.

Data the app stores

CodeFreeze stores only: (1) your campaign configuration — lockdown start and end times and the list of allowed codes — and (2) an audit log of pause/resume events (timestamp, code name, action). This data is linked to your shop domain.

Customer data

CodeFreeze does not collect, store or process any personal data of your customers. The checkout-level block is evaluated by a Shopify Function inside Shopify’s infrastructure; no customer information leaves Shopify.

Data retention

Campaign configuration and audit logs are retained while the app is installed. Audit log entries older than 12 months are deleted automatically.

Uninstall

When you uninstall CodeFreeze, all active lockdowns are ended and all stored data for your shop — configuration and audit logs — is permanently deleted within 48 hours, in line with Shopify’s mandatory shop/redact webhook.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion or export of any data the app holds about your shop. Write to hello@slatehouse.app.
